Three years ago I attended a H.O.W. fundraising party. I had a wonderful time. It was pleasing to see how well the party was organized. The ambiance was very warm and welcoming. The next month, I was invited to their general assembly meeting and once again, I was impressed to hear their report on how donated funds were allocated to their intended beneficiaries. These beneficiaries included the “Orphan of Soeurs Redemptrice de Nazareth” and “Hispagnola Christian School,” both located in Haiti.  I immediately felt the need to be part of such an important cause, giving back, and making a difference in someone’s life.

After attending  two more meetings, I joined H.O.W. and became one of their active members. Since becoming a member, I now volunteer my time in providing a better life for the unfortunate ones who are deprived of their basic needs. I feel very proud to be part of such a wonderful organization. The members of H.O.W. are devoted citizens, who donate their time and efforts for a better tomorrow.

As we all know by now, Haiti has been tremendously affected by a recent earthquake. We are all shocked and saddened by this tragic event. A large percentage of  the Haitian  population were children. Unfortunately many of these children have lost their loved ones through this disaster. It is immediately clear that the country will now have more orphans than ever before. The need of a child is extended long beyond present physical trauma. Unfortunately these children will not have a speedy recovery from a disaster of this magnitude. Besides bodily injury, long term psychological distress can bring upon more damaging health issues on the life of these children. The orphans need our support now more than ever and for the near future. I feel obligated to be part of such an important cause and encourage anyone to come and work with us. Please see it in your heart to donate your time and love to these children which are in desperate need. Please be a HOW member.
